HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore before moving to the United States, Agnes was exposed to multi-cultural foods at an early age. In her chaotic home, she realized the only time her family wasn’t squabbling about anything was when her grandparents hosted dinner parties. Grandpa was famous for his cooking; while Grandma for her desserts. Since Agnes started helping out in their traditional kitchen as little as nine years old, it was only a matter of time before she developed a passion for crafting food.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.
— Virginia Woolf

In Singapore, Agnes grew to love the world's flavors. She enjoys learning about various cultures and believes that the best way to truly understand them is by making their foods. The more she cooked, the more she discovered the connection people have through spices. She sees food-making as a creative expression, and traditional techniques as her way of being in touch with history. She enjoys sharing her creations and hopes to make with the world a better place one yummy bite at a time.

FOOD PHILOSOPHY
Food is love. Everywhere around the world, food isn’t just for sustenance. It brings about joy, laughter, memories, stories and relationships. Food is also a great way to explore cultures and history. It often represents our beliefs and what we stand for in life. In many places, the preparation of food itself is an art, and a celebrated ritualistic and social event.

MISSION
To forge and strengthen relationships through the art of food preparation, eating and sharing delicious foods. [And to rid the world of awful eateries!]

QUALITY EXPECTATIONS
Agnes believes in using unbleached flours, cage-free eggs, very minimally-processed sugars and quality ingredients. She also adds lots of love to making her food.
